This feels like so many people's story Marisa. Beautifully depicted.

I feel being true to who we are deep within is the only way to find lasting joy, health, fulfillment, a sense of joy, basically everything that truly matters.

And yes, characters like Pitbull are everywhere who'll only look at a person as a means to their end and such characters build more such characters like themselves. Only cure to this systemic trauma is authenticity. Thank you for taking on this courageous journey and sharing it with us.

Thanks much for your comment, Tyler. I truly appreciate it. I feel like I am finally giving myself the permission and space I have needed for far too long to become who I truly wish to be. And it has been such a long and isolating road. Because no one around me “gets it.” I hardly know anyone who loves the things I do — creative writing, making art and music, and creating videos. And, unfortunately, I’ve received so many messages (both explicit and implicit) to not pursue these things. It’s taken more courage than I ever anticipated to do these things anyway. So your kind comment means more than you might realize. Thanks for the encouragement and engagement, Tyler. 🙏
