I can definitely relate to feeling like certain creative dreams and ambitions have been sidelined over the years, although for slightly different reasons. My family weren't against creative careers I just don't think they could imagine it for someone from our background.
And also it's so difficult at any age, but especially when you're young, to realise that when someone says something hurtful it's often more about themselves than it is about you - was lovely the way you reframed that experience.
